Knits

Ahh of course… My favorite! Knits. Being half Finnish, I might have a soft spot in my heart for the winter. My friends talk about how excited they are to go skiing, warming up by the fire with their drink of choice, or for my European folks, visiting the Christmas markets, as one does. Do not get me wrong, I love all of that, I am no Grinch. Especially the skiing aspect. (Post to come.) It is all great, but what really puts a smile on my face, when I see a cold front coming through, are knits. Whether it is layering it over an oxford, putting one on over a plain white tee or nothing at all. I most likely could write a book on this, so I will attempt to grasp your attention for two-paragraphs.

Denmark, Norway, England, Italy and Scotland, all have one thing in common: they make a good sweater. You cannot go wrong, whether you are choosing from Colhays, Rubato, Shackleton, Ghiaia,or Sunspel. It comes down to a few simple basics from which you should choose. Material: merino, cashmere or cotton. You really pay for what you get here. Then it would be color and style. Little secret, merino can keep you very warm, almost too warm in an office environment. Unless you are the outdoorsy type, I would stick to cashmere or cotton. Lastly, choose a color which suits your style.  Mine range from navy to grey. I know what you must be thinking…. This guy has no color in his wardrobe! Don’t you worry, I have that covered for the warmer months.
